Lora Wiens asked me to post the following. Before doing so, I called Wheaton College in Wheaton, IL. to confirm that she is a doctoral student doing research via the listed web site. I also took the survey myself.
I recommend this study to anyone who is eligible.
I recognize that there are non-Christian readers of UnSpace and I hope you will not be offended by my publicizing this study. I would also hope that some of the other Christian bloggers who read UnSpace would also check into this study and consider posting this as well.
Here is what Lora Wiens asked me to post1:
My name is Lora Wiens and I am a doctoral student inClinical Psychology and I'm doing a dissertation on Christian spirituality and marriage. Most of my research is being done through an online survey. And here is the thing, I really want variety. In other words, I want to hear from Christians of all theological stripes. The only requirement for taking the survey is that you call your Christian and have been married for at least 2 years. It is anonymous and takes approximately 30 minutes. This is the website: Marriage and Religious Faith
For the record, Lora started off by recognizing that this request might be an imposition and said that she would not be offended in any way should I decide to decline. She also suggested that I take the survey myself to see if I would wish to publicize it on my blog. The survey front page contains a host of links that permitted me to establish the legitimacy of the survey. It was because of such an approach that I agreed to help. It also occurs to me that any doctoral student in Clinical Psychology who could not write an effective letter like this should not be encouraged!
- I edited this slightly, turning the URL into a link and removing some carriage returns. [back]

{bad joke warning}I am offended you posted something only for married people{/bad joke warning} Sorry rob I could not resist put that joke there.
Mike,
I actually had something apologizing to the single people, too. It disappeared in one of the re-edits, both for brevity’s sake and because it’s not just single people who are excluded. You need to be married for a period of time before you’re eligible. I know you were planning on marrying some stranger off the street this afternoon so you could take the survey. Sorry, Dude.
Seriously, I hope you’ll mention this survey on your blog, even though you can’t take it.
Alas, I have only been married for 1.33 years.
F.D.,
Any chance of you promoting this survey?
Rob posted at my site. I wish Lora the best of luck with it.
Thanks! I’m sure Lora appreciates it, too.
